Lia Bean is a neurodivergent artist based in Carmarthenshire. She grew up in Pembrokeshire and had a connection to painting since her early childhood. She trained under David Tress, who inspired her to pursue a more abstract approach to her work

In her practice, Lia aims to explore both the unspoken challenges and parts of everyday life, as well as feelings of longing and nostalgia. She captures these moments through expressive colours and hyperbolic, sometimes almost surreal imagery. She is deeply inspired by her childhood and dreamlike spaces, where imagination runs wild and rules are broken.
